Wherever there is a sundial, it will attract our attention and its contemplation will recall the homage rendered by our remote ancestors to the Sun, the first among the 'gods' to be worshipped.

A kind of eternal magic radiates from each Sundial, awakening obscure recollections of a past that has now become a vestigial subconscious, reminding man of the time when life was clearly felt to be part of the life of a powerfully animist universe.
A Sundial is a living object. It needs no winding and is driven by no weight. It has something to say and says it. It speaks about time, never ceasing to recall the flight of time, its tragedy and irreversibility for humankind. Moon Discs are extremely scarce for the very good reason that they are not easy to use, and that the result is always more or less compromised by the inaccuracy of the reading and the poor estimate of the moon. This may show a considerable discrepancy with Real Time. So, one may assume that Lunar Dials are meant mainly for those to whom time is of little importance. It is said that lovers fall into this category. Carpe Diem!
All Sundials and Moondiscs are created in highfired stoneware and feature cast bronze appointments. See Pricing. |
