On commissions, costs, and pricing

Every image located on my site illustrates individual works commissioned for specific clients. These works span a number of years, and are dependent on many factors such as scale, content and overall design, therefore the individual costs vary greatly.

Because of the diverse nature of each project, specific costs can only be determined by factoring a variety of aspects inherent in the details of any new commission. I welcome all inquiries about your needs for Architectural Art Works.

Sundials and Moondiscs

My dials are homage to those who understand time as it cycles with the sun, the moon, and the seasons themselves.

Some I call Moondiscs to honor the feminine principal, its waxing and waning, and its changeable persona of attraction. I make them of stoneware, with bronze appointments, materials that are durable in any weather. I create my own notations for the hours indicated and often use Alchemical symbols as decorative motifs. Dials can be made site specific to the exact latitude and longitude where they will reside.

Altars and Tsukubai

Tsukubai
My studies of Japanese art and ritual invoked a personal interpretation of this ancient vessel. These water basins suggest homecoming and a daily ritual to purify the mind of worldly externals.

Prices range from $400 -$1200

Recently, while working through a difficult personal transition, I created a series of shrines or altars. It occurred to me that they could be gateways to envisioning new solutions to life’s challenges. I present them without embellishment so that those who choose to purchase or commission one may develop their own accents and personalize them to suit their desires.

Spheres of Influence

Spheres
Infinite harmony and calm are the traits we ascribe to the sphere. Said to be the most perfect form, the sphere is a complete and balanced form, its’ entire surface radiating from one central point of origin.

My ceramic spheres vary in size from 3” to 36” in diameter. I also create them in bronze and, on a larger scale, in ferro-cement with color and patina.
